RootsUprising is an intergenerational Motion art collective. Composed of dancers and wordsmiths. The company reflects upon the dynamics of the human condition through the lens of movement, music, poetry, and song. RootsUprisng, which was conceived in 1998 as part of Randall-Bellinger’s Master Thesis project, Dancing Beloved, aims to celebrate the resilience and beauty of all BIPOC people.
As part of Theater of the People, RootsUprising expands upon the mission of bringing the arts to all communities as a means of engagement and community upliftment.
